Space X gets green light to launch US spy satellites into space

United States latest armed forces command, Space Force, has authorised Space X to launch top-secret spy satellites using Falcon Heavy rockets with reusable boosters. Space X has promised to save federal money with lower costs of taking satellites into orbit, Bloomberg reported, while the Space Force has already managed to save $64 million with reusable Falcon 9 rockets. The first mission is expected to launch between October and December to deliver a National Reconnaissance Office satellite. The Space Force issued the certification to Space X in June but did not disclose the news until recently. Air Force officials have still been reviewing the approach to 39 national security launches slated for fiscal 2025 through 2027. The certification to Space X brings a temporary blow to competing rocket producers like United Launch Alliance.
