Huawei Mate X3 spy shot reveals Mate 50 like rear camera

We’re busy covering the Huawei P60 series but there’s a new foldable phone soon making our way. Now, a spy shot of the upcoming Huawei Mate X3 foldable phone has appeared online.

A Weibo tipster shared a spy shot of the Huawei Mate X3 camera system, which reveals a quad camera arrangement, similar to what we’ve seen in the Mate 50 series but with a slightly different placement.

The periscope camera is now settled on the top right, while the other is likely to be a main camera, ultra-wide angle, and macro camera. It also has a wide LED flash.

To be mentioned, the device in the image is a testing model and resides under a protective cover. Therefore, we can’t see an exact look at the external design.

Aside from the camera specifications, we can expect that the phone will come with an XMAGE imaging system and there will be new improvements to the photography section. From the appearance, we can confirm that it has a side opening and closing mechanism, which is exactly the same as the Mate X2.

The tipster anticipates that this new foldable smartphone is coming soon and it will still be powered by Snapdragon 8+ GEN 1 chipset. The chipset has octa-core architecture including Octa-core, 1 × Cortex-X2 at 3.2 GHz + 3 × Cortex-A710 at 2.75 GHz + 4 × Cortex-A510 at 2.0 GHz.

The past report reveals that Huawei Mate X3 will adopt a light design with a bigger battery capacity. There is also improvement planned for the hinge system to provide a better opening and closing experience for the customers.

Furthermore, Huawei has been confused about the launch of this foldable device, as it is already preparing for the unveiling of the P60 series. These two launches could clash with each other but it’s more likely that the phone maker to launch the Mate X3 ahead of the next P series flagship.
