Google invests $300 million in AI firm

As the threat of ChatGPT intensifies, Google struggles to keep up with the competition for its widely-used search engine. The company invested around $300 million in an AI startup, Anthropic, which is building its own general-purpose chatbot: a potential rival to ChatGPT named Claude. According to Financial Time, Google already has a number of experts developing AI language models, and the move could be motivated to build Google’s cloud computing business.
